I usually do my own work on my cars, but since I can't do a NYS inspection, I have to find a shop to do it for me. Based on Yelp reviews, I made an appointment at MINHS for a Saturday morning. I knew the car was in good condition except for a pesky exhaust leak that I ran out of patience trying to fix. I dropped the car off early, waited for the phone call, and authorized the work when it came. The whole process was very straightforward and professional. When Vinny called me to tell me the car was ready, he said that since the leaking gasket was so new, they didn't have to replace it and were only charging me for the time it took to clean up the gasket mating surfaces (which is what caused the leak) and put the thing back together. Very honest - they could have padded their bill there if they'd wanted. Extremely pleasant transaction and if need work done on my car, they'll get it. Also, while Jennifer A. may have had an unpleasant experience with Vinny, I found him to be courteous and professional. Perhaps she caught him on a bad day?

The shop is clean, the technicians are pro's. The owners are courteous, forthright and honest. When they give you an estimate, its accurate. All the work I've had done on my car was absolutely correct. I highly recommend Minhs Auto.

Ability 4.5 Service 4 I like these guys. You can trust them and they dont nickel and dime you for small stuff (ie: checking something or doing some very basic task). They seem to know their stuff and take the time to explaineverything--the transparency is reassuring. They also dont overpromise or jump the gun on the problem which many mechanics seem to do. However, recently they have not been as diligent about quoting me exact amounts for the work and things have taken longer to fix due to logistical dropped balls. You will likely deal with vinny or tam when working w/ them. All and all, hard to find mechanics you can trust and are also technically sound esp with german cars. If you are in a rush to get your cars fixed, not sure this is the right shop given my previous experiences.

These guys were awesome! HIGHLY RECOMMENDED! I dealt with Tam, who was really honest and extremely knowledgeable when it came to the power steering problem on my 2006 G35. I went to TWO other mechanics who told me I had to replace the whole rack & pinion for around $1600 (one even said I had to replace the power fluid steering pump for another $500). Tam called me after a day of doing a FREE inspection and explained it was a broken nut (or connection) where the column met the rack. The cost?... $160!! I was amazed. My car is steering like new and is clean from the free wash. Thanks Tam and MINHS!! I would not hesitate to go back.

An honest shop. Explains everything to you in detail. Very knowledgeable group of guys. If you have an everyday car that needs maintenance - these guys are it.

Amazing service. They diagnosed my car, test drove it three times, and then took thirty minutes to explain every detail and only charged me for one hour's time. Incredible.

Six years of great service. They even sent me a Christmas card with a hand written holiday poem. They are straightforward, honest, and quick. I highly recommend them.

I've taken my car here for repairs (at least) 3 times over the past couple of years. Each time, I've been thoroughly impressed with their work and professionalism. They generally do all the repairs necessary within 24 hours and I'm normally surprised when they call to say the car is ready because I can't believe they did it so quickly. Last night at 5:30pm I brought my car in for an oil gasket repair and cabin air filter change among a couple of other things. I just got a call at 3:30pm today saying it's ready. 22 hours is not bad at all, and especially when I can time it to avoid the alternate-side parking hassle. When the car is returned, it is washed, vacuumed and looks better than when I brought it in. Their prices are completely reasonable and they're a pleasure to talk to. At no point do I feel like I'm getting anything but the best service at a fair price. Whenever they've needed to do something that costs extra, they call first, which is nice and sadly not the norm everywhere. My car has been running beautifully and everything they worked on has been perfect since they did the work. I would not think of taking my car any where else in this city. Seriously, if you're looking for a great mechanic, just go here and you'll be so happy you did. Also, if you need to wait a bit, Draft Barn is right down the road on 3rd Ave and has some great beers.

Upfront and honest mechanics- such a relief! I know enough about cars to know when someone is trying to buy something I really do not need. It was so nice to have to deal with any of that- especially during my state inspection. Vinny was so mild mannered it threw me off but was excellent. Put your shield away and feel comfortable to walk in and walk out without wanting to call your dad first :)

I have to add my voice to the rave reviews here which originally directed me to MINHS. My BMW just went over the 5 year inclusive maintenacne and when I brought it in to have a light replaced I was hit with a list of problems "that were dangerous and needed immediate attention". This is 2 months after my annual maintenance visit there, with no problems found and now with an estimate of over $4 grand. I also was shocked that everyone I had previously dealt with had left, the manger, assistant service manager and 3 service reps that I had always dealt with. I explained the situation to Vinny and he told me to bring the car in for a free estimate. Half of BMW of Manhattan's "problems" were not necessary and the repair of the remaining few was less than half of the estimated cost at BMW. I picked up the car washed and vacuumed, and found the courtesy and expertise outstanding. Like others here there aren't enough superlatives to describe the service. It is conveniently located only 2 blocks from the R subway and right off off Hamilton Ave./BQE for easy drop-off and return from Manhattan. Don't even think of using BMW Mahattan out of warranty. This is the best repair experience I have ever had with a car.
